How American Pharoah can win historic Triple Crown at Belmont Stakes
Monday May 25th, 2015

The 147th Belmont Stakes will be held on Saturday at Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y.

American Pharoah will seek the Triple Crown after winning the Preakness on May 16 and the Kentucky Derby on May 2. The horse started as an even-money favorite for the Belmont and was given 10–11 odds to win the $1.5 million race, ahead of contenders Frosted, Materiality, Mubtaahij and Carpe Diem.

A win by American Pharoah would make it the first horse in 37 years to win each leg of the Triple Crown.

The 2014 Belmont winner was Tonalist, ridden by jockey Joel Rosario.
