Kennedy headed to Washington

The Washington Nationals have reached agreement on a deal with free-agent second baseman Adam Kennedy, sources confirm.

The deal, which is pending a physical, is worth $1.25 million and includes a second year club option for $2 million

Kennedy, 34, is an 11-year veteran who spent 2009 with the A's, batting .289 with 11 home runs and 63 RBIs. The Nationals had been pursuing Orlando Hudson, but he opted to sign with the Minnesota Twins on Thursday night.
