The Mets' shakeup continues, as they have fired scouting director Rudy Terrasas, sources said.

The Mets have a new regime, with Paul DePodesta as Vice President Player Development and Scouting. It isn't known whether they will hire a new scouting director. If they do, A's scouting guru Grady Fuson could be of interest.

Terrasas, who had some good picks -- including first baseman Ike Davis -- had a year to go on his contract, which the Mets will absorb. A few of their scouts are no longer with the team, including Russ Bove and Duane Larson, who were fired, and Bob Johnson, who jumped to the Braves.

The Mets need to hire a manager. The favorites for that job are Bob Melvin and Terry Collins, with Wally Backman and Chip Hale also in the running.

Terrasas may be reassigned to another role in the organization.
