CLEVELAND (AP) The Cleveland Indians have recalled right-hander Vinnie Pestano from Triple-A Columbus and optioned right-hander Zach McAllister to the same club.

Pestano began the season in Cleveland's bullpen, but was sent down April 9 after allowing six runs in 2 2-3 innings over three appearances. He was 2-3 with a 1.78 ERA in 25 games at Columbus. Pestano, 29, will be used as a setup man to help the Indians overworked bullpen.

McAllister was 3-4 with a 5.89 ERA in 10 starts. He was on the 15-day disabled list with a sore back for a month and was activated Wednesday.
