Report: Lawyer for Alex Rodriguez to sue over unpaid legal fees
A lawyer for suspended New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez will sue him over unpaid legal bills, reports the New York Daily News.
According to the report, David Cornwell has let Major League Baseball and the players union know about plans to a file a suit against Rodriguez in U. S. District Court in the Southern District of New York.
Rodriguez owes his lawyers about $500,000, according to the Daily News and has been billed around $4 million by hired lawyers, private investigators and public relations firms.
Cornwell represented Rodriguez in his battle against MLB after the league suspended him for the 2014 season. The suspension came after investigators found connections between Rodriguez and a now closed South Florida clinic that was reportedly giving performance-enhancing drugs to professional athletes.

According to one baseball source, A-Rod has told friends that he believes he was ill-served by his team of advisers.
If Rodriguez uses malpractice claims to justify withholding his fees, however, he will effectively waive the attorney-client privilege, potentially exposing even more of his dirty laundry.
