Colorado Rockies second-half preview: Don't expect Tulowitzki trade

Verducci's Quick Pitch: Colorado Rockies

Sports Illustrated's Tom Verducci previews the second half of the MLB season for the Colorado Rockies.

Colorado Rockies

Record: 40-55

Standing: 4th in NL West

Team Leaders

Batting Average: Troy Tulowitzki.345

Home Runs: Troy Tulowitzki, 21

ERA: Jorge De La Rosa, 4.56

The Rockies are among the best hitting teams in baseball, scoring the third-most runs and batting the highest average in baseball. But Colorado has been dismal in terms of pitching. Colorado's pitching staff has the worst ERA in Major League Baseball and has allowed more runs than any other team.

Rumors have swirled that Colorado might try to trade franchise player Troy Tulowitzki for young talent, but Rockies owner Dick Monfort has stated that Tulowitzki will not be traded.
