Star power is leading the Mariners' playoff push: Felix Hernandez leads the American League in ERA, and Robinson Cano is second in batting average. Yet despite the efforts from Seattle's two big stars, the Mariners are still in third place in the AL West, eight games behind Oakland and 6.5 behind the Angels. However, Seattle still has a two-game lead for the second Wild Card spot in the American League.

Hernandez could be pitching his way to a potential second Cy Young Award, with a 2.12 ERA and 154 strikeouts.
