There is "still a good chance" the San Diego Padres will trade reliever Joaquin Benoit before Thursday's trade deadline, MLB Daily Dish's Chris Cotillo reports.

After trading closer Huston Street to the Los Angeles Angels, the Padres are gauging the market for a Benoit trade. Benoit, 37, has a 1.93 ERA with 49 strikeouts in 42 innings this season for the Padres.

Cotillo reports the Pirates and Indians are two likely landing spots for Benoit if he is dealt.

Starter Ian Kennedy has a 50/50 chance of being traded, according to Cotillo's source. The New York Yankees are among the teams rumored to be interested in acquiring Kennedy.

Kennedy, 29, is 8-9 with a 3.66 ERA and 143 strikeouts this season. He missed his start on Monday with oblique soreness.
