Following the Thursday morning deal that sent Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester and outfielder Jonny Gomes to Oakland for Yoenis Cespedes, trade talks surrounding Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price have intensified, reports Jon Morosi of FOX Sports.

According to Morosi, the early timing of the Lester trade opened up the overall market ahead of Thursday's 4 p.m. deadline, and the chances of the Rays trading Price has increased in the last 12 hours.

Price's name has been at the center of many trade rumors of late, and teams that have been linked to the pitcher include the Brewers, Mariners and Cardinals

Price is 11-8 with a 3.11 ERA and 189 strikeouts in 170.2 innings for the Rays this season.
