Athletics, Tigers GMs exchange funny texts after David Price trade

During the heat of the trading deadline on Thursday, the teams who made the biggest deals still had senses of humor despite some tense moments.

According to MLB.com's Jane Lee, Detroit Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski texted Oakland Athletics manager Billy Beane saying, "you have one minute to acquire Chris Sale."

The Chicago White Sox ace ended up staying put, but Oakland traded Yoenis Cespedes for pitcher Jon Lester and outfielder Jonny Gomes in the biggest deal of the day until Detroit's phone lines started burning up.

The Tigers acquired 2012 Cy Young Award winner David Price from Tampa Bay in a three-team trade just before the 4 p.m. deadline.
