The Chicago White Sox ace ended up staying put, but Oakland traded Yoenis Cespedes for pitcher Jon Lester and outfielder Jonny Gomes in the biggest deal of the day until Detroit's phone lines started burning up.

The Tigers acquired 2012 Cy Young Award winner David Price from Tampa Bay in a three-team trade just before the 4 p.m. deadline.
