The Minnesota Twins will call up pitching prospect Trevor May from AAA Rochester on Saturday, the team announced Friday. May will make his major league debut Saturday against the Oakland Athletics

May is the organization's 8th-ranked prospect, according to Baseball America. The 24-year-old right-hander was a fourth-round pick in the 2008 draft.

In 95.1 innings at AAA this year, May is 8-6 with a 2.93 ERA. He's struck out 8.59 batters per nine innings, and his 91 total strikeouts are the second most on staff.

The Twins acquired May from the Phillies two years ago in the trade which sent centerfielder Ben Revere to Philadelphia.

Minnesota is 51-62 and in last place in the AL Central. Earlier this year, Baseball Prospectus ranked the Twins as the best farm system in baseball.
