Oakland Athletics' catcher John Jaso is likely headed to the disabled list Monday after experiencing concussion-like symptoms for the past two weeks, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser.

Jaso said he was hit by a foul tip during a game against the Tampa Bay Rays a few weeks ago and has been struggling through the symptoms ever since.

The move to the disabled list comes during a busy day for the American League West co-leading Athletics. Oakland acquired two catchers Sunday, picking up Geovany Soto from the Texas Rangers for cash considerations as well as Cincinnati Reds minor-leaguer Bryan Anderson. Those moves come as Jaso heads to the disabled list and catcher Stephen Vogt nurses a foot injury. The only Athletics catcher available for Sunday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels is Derek Norris.

The Athletics also claimed shortstop Yunel Escobar Sunday off revocable waivers from the Rays in a move that could potentially replace or back up injured shortstop Jed Lowrie.
