Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo will miss his second straight game as he deals with tightness in his lower back.

He did not play in Wednesday’s 7-5 loss to the Cincinnati Reds after leaving the series opener with the injury. Cubs manager Rick Renteria said that Rizzo is "day to day” and is holding out hope Rizzo will be able to play on Thursday.

Cubs owner Tom Ricketts: 'We're a 130-year-old start-up'

Chris Valaika again gets the nod at first base. He went 1-4 and struck out twice in Wednesday’s game.

Rizzo leads Chicago in home runs (30), RBI (71) and on-base percentage (.375) this season.
