Brewers pitcher Matt Garza will return to the mound Wednesday after sitting out most of August with a left oblique strain, the team announced on Saturday.
The Brewers, currently first in the NL Central, play the final game of their series in Chicago against the Cubs on Wednesday. The team has spent 148 of the past 152 days in either sole possession of first place or tied for the top spot in the division. Garza has been out since Aug. 4 with the strain.
The 30-year-old righty, who pitched a simulated game on Friday, is 7-7 with a 3.58 ERA in 23 starts this season.
