Giants first baseman Brandon Belt is 10 days from returning to baseball activities, John Shea of The San Francisco Chronicle reported Saturday.

The 26-year-old remains on the concussion disabled list but said he will re-evaluated by doctors on Sept. 8. He could possibly begin simulated game action at the end of a Sept. 9-14 homestand, according to Shea.

He \ said earlier in August that he plans to return this season. Belt sustained the concussion when a ball was thrown astray during batting practice in July.

Belt is hitting .237  with 11 homers and 24 RBI this season. The Giants, second in the NL West, won on Saturday vs. the Brewers and wrap up the series on Sunday.
