The Milwaukee Brewers were in the mix to make a deal for All-Star pitcher David Price at the trading deadline, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

According to Rosenthal, the deal fell through when Milwaukee refused to give up pitcher Jimmy Nelson. Price was eventually traded from the Tampa Bay Rays to the Detroit Tigers in a three-team trade also involving the Seattle Mariners.
