The Oakland Athletics activated shortstop Jed Lowrie from the disabled list following his recovery from a broken right index finger, the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reports.

Lowrie, 30, has not played since Aug. 13, and he went on the disabled list a few days later. He broke his finger in early August and played through the injury before deciding to take time off to heal.
