Selected by the Giants in the 20th round of the 2010 MLB draft out of the University of Kansas, Bochy, 27, has never appeared in the major leagues. He has a 3.83 ERA in 35 appearances, including two starts, at Fresno this season. Over four minor league seasons, Bochy's ERA is 3.03.

In addition to Bochy, San Francisco also called up pitcher Chris Heston, first baseman Adam Duvall and outfielders Jarrett Parker and Gary Brown.

The Giants entered Tuesday at 75-63, two games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West and currently in possession of the first NL Wild Card spot.
