Oakland Athletics relief pitcher Sean Doolittle has been reinstated from the disabled list, the team announced on Friday.
Doolittle was placed on the DL on Aug. 24 with a strained right intercostal muscle. The 27-year-old had posted a 2.28 ERA with 80 strikeouts in 55.1 innings this season, while converting on 20 of 23 save opportunities.
The A's, who open a three-game series at Seattle on Friday, currently hold the top spot in the American League Wild Card and are in second place in the AL West.
