New Braves stadium will be named SunTrust Park

The Atlanta Braves announced their new stadium will be named SunTrust Park during a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday. The team and SunTrust Banks agreed to a 25-year contract for the naming rights to the stadium which is scheduled to open for the 2017 season.

The team and SunTrust Banks agreed to a 25-year contract for the naming rights to the stadium, which is scheduled to open for the 2017 season.

“This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to partner with a great organization that shares our values for winning and serving the community,” said SunTrust Chairman and CEO William H. Rogers Jr., in a statement, via the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

SunTrust Park will be located in Cobb County, about 30 miles north the Braves' current stadium, Turner Field.

The Braves also released severalrenderings of the stadium's appearance.
