The Marlins extended manager Mike Redmond's contract through 2017.

Miami entered Sunday vs. the Nationals with 77 wins, the most for the franchise since finishing the 2010 season at 80-82. The Fish were no-hit by the Nationals' Jordan Zimmermann on Sunday.

The 43-year-old Redmond, who played for more than a decade in the big leagues, is 139-184 in his two years managing the Marlins. He was hired by Miami in November 2012 out of the Blue Jays' minor league system to replace Ozzie Guillen.
