Online oddsmakers have picked the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels as co-favorites to win this year's World Series, according to Dylan Hernandez, the Dodgers beat writer for the LA Times.

The Angels ended the season 98-64, finishing first in the AL West. The Dodgers were 94-68 this year, taking first place in the NL West. Their 94 wins this season are the most since 2009, when they finished 95-67.

According to Hernandez, both teams are at 5-to-1 odds to win the championship.

The Dodgers lodged 16 hits against the Colorado Rockies in their final regular season game on Sunday. They open their postseason at home against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday.

St. Louis knocked the Dodgers out of the league championship series last year.

The Angels lost 4-1 to the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. They finished the season first in runs, with 772, fifth in batting average at .260, and sixth in home runs, sending 155 out of the park this year.
