The Kansas City Royals have named Jason Vargas as their ALCS Game 4 starter, according to Andy McCullough of The Kansas City Star

Game 4 between the Royals and Baltimore Orioles will take place on Wednesday at 4:07 p.m. ET. Kansas City leads the series 2-0 heading into Tuesday night's Game 3.

Game 3 was originally scheduled to be played Monday, but was postponed due to rain. 

In his first career postseason start, Vargas gave up three hits and two earned runs in six innings to help defeat the Los Angeles Angels in Game 1 of the ALDS. 

In the regular season, Vargas went 11-10 with a 3.71 ERA and 1.273 WHIP. 

ALCS rainout's potential impact on rotations, bullpens

The Orioles have not yet announced a Game 4 starter. 

Jeremy Guthrie will start Game 3 for the Royals, while Wei-Yin Chen takes the mound for Baltimore.
