Kevin Correia agrees to minor league deal with Mariners

PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) Former All-Star pitcher Kevin Correia has agreed to a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners and was expected to report to spring training Monday.

The 34-year-old right-hander was 7-17 with a 5.44 ERA last year for Minnesota and Los Angeles Dodgers, who acquired him from the Twins on Aug. 9. He made 23 starts for Minnesota and three starts and six relief appearances for the Dodgers.

Correia is 76-95 with a 4.59 ERA in 216 starts and 137 relief appearances over 12 big league seasons. He also has pitched for San Francisco and San Diego, and was an All-Star with the Padres in 2011, when he was 11-7 before the break.
