The Seattle Mariners will take the field May 16 dressed as the 1946 Seattle Steelheads, a short-lived Negro League team, as part of Turn Back the Clock Night at Safeco Field.

The Steelheads played in the West Coast Baseball Association, an attempt at a west-coast Negro league that folded after a single season.

On Thursday, the Mariners tweeted a picture of the special edition jerseys they will wear against the Red Sox on Turn Back the Clock Night.

The Mariners previously dressed at the Steelheads for a 1995 game against the Royals in honor of the Negro Leagues' 75th birthday.

In April 2014, the Mariners "turned back the clock" for a game against the Astros, with both teams wearing the uniforms the franchises wore in 1979.
