Texas Rangers activate Josh Hamilton from DL
The Texas Rangersactivated outfielder Josh Hamilton from the 15-day disabled list on Monday, allowing him to join the team in Cleveland for Monday's game against the Indians.
Hamilton spent 12 games between Triple-A Round Rock and Double-A Frisco on an injury rehabilitation assignment following off-season shoulder surgery. He batted a combined .364 with a home run, six RBIs and a .937 OPS during the two minor-league stints.
The Rangers acquired Hamilton from the Los Angeles Angels on April 26 after he went through a falling out with management over an admitted relapse with drugs and alcohol.
"Josh is physically and game-ready to get started," general manager Jon Daniels said on Saturday, according toThe Dallas Morning News. "The team is playing well, and we’re looking forward to welcoming him to the club."

Hamilton batted .305/.363/.549 with 142 home runs and 506 RBIs over five seasons with Texas between 2008-2012. He was an All-Star all five of those years, and won the 2010 AL MVP award.
In a corresponding move on Monday, the Rangers placed righthander Neftali Feliz on the disabled list with an axillary abscess on his right side, retroactive to May 20.
