Posey overtakes Molina at catcher in latest NL All-Star voting update

MLB released the updated All-Star Game voting totals for the National League on Tuesday.

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper continues to lead all players with 2,323,186 votes, while St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter is next with 1,974,503.

In the first voting update, the Giants' Buster Posey trailed the Cardinals' Yadier Molina by about 100,000 votes for the No. 1 spot at catcher. But Posey has overtaken Molina and now leads at the position by about 137,000 votes.

The leaders at the other positions all remained the same. The updated totals can be viewed below.

Fans do not choose the pitchers for the All-Star team.

On Monday, the American League All-Star voting update was released.

The next NL voting update will be released on June 9.
