Kansas City Royals still leading American League All-Star voting

In the latest update released Monday by Major League Baseball, four Kansas City Royals lead the American League in voting. In total, seven Royals are in line to start their respective positions in the All-Star Game on July 14.

In the latest update released Monday by Major League Baseball, four Kansas City Royalslead the American League in All-Star voting. In total, seven Royals are in line to start their respective positions in the All-Star Game on July 14.

Royals catcher Salvador Perez (4,419,620 votes), outfielder Lorenzo Cain (4,211,472), third baseman Mike Moustakas (4,046,726) and shortstop Alcides Escobar (3,928,985) lead the AL overall.

First baseman Eric Hosmer (3,551,005), outfielder Alex Gordon (3,393,134) and designated hitter Kendrys Morales (3,269,634) are the three other Royals currently leading their respective positions.

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (2,809,731) is the lone non-Royals player to lead his respective position. Los Angeles Angels centerfielder Mike Trout (3,668,577) is second among AL outfielders between Cain and Gordon.

The latest update for National League voting will be released on Tuesday. In last week’s NL update, Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper led all players with 2,323,186 votes.

The All-Star Game will be played July 14 at the Cincinnati Reds’ Great American Ball Park.
