The Detroit Tigers have optioned right-handed pitcher Shane Greene to Triple A Toledo, the team announced Friday.

Greene, who is in his first season with the team, is 4-6 in 13 starts with a 5.82 ERA. Greene has lost his last four starts and has not recorded a win since May 15.

The Tigers acquired Greene through a trade with the New York Yankees during the off-season. Last season, Greene's first in MLB, he finished 5-4 with a 3.78 ERA in 14 starts with the Yankees.

Detroit is 31-29 and in third place in the AL Central, 4.5 games behind the division-leading Kansas City Royals. The Tigers host the Indians on Friday night.
