The Houston Astros have acquired outfielder Carlos Gomez and pitcher Mike Fiers from the Milwaukee Brewers, the Brewers announced Thursday.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports first reported the trade.

In exchange for Gomez, Fiers and International Slot 76, the Brewers receive outfielder Brett Phillips, oufielder Domingo Santana, left-handed pitcher Josh Hader and right-handed pitcher Adrian Houser. Santana was assigned to Triple A, while the other three prospects were sent to Double A.

Gomez was nearly dealt from Milwaukee to the New York Mets Wednesday before a medical issue reportedly led New York to nix the deal at the last minute. The 29-year-old outfielder is a two-time All-Star who has batted .262 with eight home runs and 43 RBIs this season while battling injuries.

Fiers, 30, is 5-9 in 21 starts for the Brewers this season with a 3.89 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 121 strikeouts in 118 innings.
