Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke will miss his scheduled Wednesday start against Arizona due to calf soreness.

Los Angeles announced its decision to scratch Greinke on Wednesday afternoon and did not immediately name his replacement. The team expects him to make his next start, set for Sept. 28 against the Giants.

The Dodgers lead San Francisco in the National League West by six games with 12 games remaining on the year. The Dodgers have dropped their last four games, however, and begin a seven-game road trip Friday.

Greinke is in midst of a Cy Young award race with teammate Clayton Kershaw and Jake Arrieta of the Cubs. He has compiled an 18–3 record with a league-best 1.65 ERA and 0.85 WHIP.
