New York Mets second baseman Daniel Murphy hit his third home run in three games in the first inning of Saturday’s NLCS Game 1 against the Chicago Cubs.

With two out and no one on in a scoreless game, Murphy hit a 1-1 fastball from Cubs starter Jon Lester into the right field seats to give the Mets a 1–0 lead at Citi Field.

New York is playing in its first postseason in nine years, while the Cubs are in the NLCS for the first time since 2003. Chicago has not won the World Series since 1908.

Matt Harvey is pitching for the Mets as they begin the best-of-seven series.
