ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) The Texas Rangers have assigned four players outright to Triple-A Round Rock as they start to clear space on their 40-man roster for the offseason reinstatement of Yu Darvish and others from the 60-day disabled list.

Infielder Kyle Blanks, catcher Carlos Corporan and outfielders Antoan Richardson and Ryan Strausborger were assigned Wednesday to Round Rock. The Rangers also lost right-hander Lisalverto Bonilla on a waiver claim to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Texas has 38 players on its 40-man roster after all those moves.

Blanks, Corporan and Richardson could refuse the assignment and become free agents.

Darvish, who missed the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in spring training, remains on the 60-day DL along with infielder Jurickson Profar and pitchers Alex Claudio and Nick Tepesch.
