The MLB off-season is still in it’s infancy, but there’s already a litany of rumblings and rumors around the league about contract situations and upcoming forays into free agency.

• MLB commissioner Rob Manfred will make a decision on whether to reinstate Pete Rose by the end of the year, reports Erik Boland of Newsday.

• The Chicago Cubs will meet with the representatives of free agent pitchers David Price, Zack Greinke and Jordan Zimmermann this week, reports Patrick Mooney of CSN Chicago.

• The New York Mets plan to pursue free-agent outfielder Alex Gordon this offseason, reports Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe.

• The St. Louis Cardinalsannounced that pitcher Lance Lynnunderwent Tommy John surgery on Tuesday and will miss the 2016 season.

• Washington Nationals could make pitcher Stephen Strasburg available to a trade this offseason, reports Cafardo.
