Former MLB closer Takashi Saito to intern with Padres’ front office
Former MLB closer Takashi Saito will work as an intern in the San Diego Padres’ front office, reportsDennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Padres executive Logan White has ties to Saito back to his days as the Los Angeles Dodgers scouting director, where he was instrumental in signing the then-36-year-old from Japan.
Saito played with five teams over seven seasons in the Majors. He was an effective reliever, posting a 21–15 record with a 2.34 ERA and 84 saves in his career. Saito’s best season came with the Dodgers in 2007, when he tallied 39 saves with a 1.40 ERA.
