The Atlanta Braves have signed third baseman Gordon Beckham to a one-year, $1.25 million contract, reports Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal.

Beckham, 29, is coming off the worst season of his MLB career, hitting .209 with six home runs and 20 RBIs in 100 games with the Chicago White Sox. The veteran infielder appeared primarily as the White Sox’s third baseman last season, though he has spent most of his career at second base.

A Georgia native who played collegiately at the University of Georgia, Beckham is a former first-round pick by the White Sox in 2008 who has spent all but 26 games of his MLB career with Chicago. In August 2014, he was traded to the Los Angeles Angels in a waiver deadline deal. He re-signed with Chicago before the 2015 season.
