MLB executives didn’t slow down for the holidays, as several teams made acquisitions into the new year. Multiple big-name free agents remain on the market, however, which will continue to provide plenty of rumblings and rumors in advance of Spring Training.

• The San Francisco Giants are reportedly in close contact with outfielder Dexter Fowler, the free agent’s personal Twitter account indicated.

• Free agent infielder/outfielder Steve Pearce is seeking a two-year deal in free agency, according to CSNMidAtlantic.com’s Rich Dubroff.
