Chicago Cubs outfielder/catcher Kyle Schwarber underwent successful knee surgery on Tuesday, the Cubs announced.

The team told reporters it anticipates a full recovery, and that Schwarber’s ACL was reconstructed and his LCL repaired. Dallas Cowboys team doctor Daniel Cooper performed the surgery in Dallas.

Schwarber, 23, tore both ligaments in an outfield collision with Dexter Fowler on April 7 against the Diamondbacks in Arizona and will miss the rest of the season.

As a rookie in 2015, Schwarber hit .246 with 16 home runs in 69 games and was a key contributor to Chicago’s playoff run.
