Vin Scully has pretty much seen it all as the voice of the Dodgers, dating back to their days in Brooklyn at Ebbets Field.

Scully sat down with SI’s Tom Verducci recently for a trip down memory lane, looking back at Brooklyn’s 1955 World Series-winning team, the old stadium, and a fan who embarrassed him long ago.

Watch above as Scully looks back and contextualizes the history of the Dodgers and the team that came to be known as the “Brooklyn Bums.” His career with the team dates back to 1950, and the legendary announcer has also become one of baseball’s most informed historians.

Scully also shared his memories of the great Jackie Robinson with Verducci and SI.
