The Atlanta Braves have traded pitcher Jhoulys Chacin to the Los Angeles Angels, the Braves announced Wednesday.

The Angels sent minor-league pitcher Adam McCreery to the Braves in return.

The Angels are in search of starting pitching after injuries to Andrew Heaney and Garrett Richards. Heaney has a UCL injury that may require surgery, while Richards will likely miss the rest of the season after tearing his UCL.

Chacin has started five games for the Braves this season, going 1–2 with a 5.40 ERA while throwing 27 strikeouts. In his career, Chacin has started 118 games, throwing over 700 innings with a 3.82 career ERA.
