The Boston Red Sox honored the 30th anniversary of their 1986 American League pennant before Wednesday’s game against the Colorado Rockies at Fenway Park.
In attendance for the tribute were several ’86 heroes including Roger Clemens and Wade Boggs, as well as Bill Buckner, who made an infamous error in the 10th inning of Game 6 of the World Series against the New York Mets.
Clemens, who was 23 years old during the ’86 campaign, went 24–4 that season, for which he garnered his only MVP award and the first of seven Cy Young honors.
Boggs, who will have his No. 26 retired at Fenway on Thursday, collected 2,098 hits in his 11-year career with the Red Sox.
