Chicago White Sox pitcher Matt Albers doubled and scored the game-winning run in Wednesday afternoon's 13-inning marathon that ended in a 2–1 victory over the New York Mets at Citi Field.

Albers improved to 2–4 on the season, allowing one hit, two walks and one strikeout in two innings to earn the win.

Albers’ double to lead off the inning came off Mets reliever Logan Verrett. The reliever reached third base on a wild pitch before scoring on a Jose Abreu sacrifice fly.

The White Sox are now 29–25, after winning their first series since May 6–8 against the Minnesota Twins.
