The Houston Astros have called up top prospect Alex Bregman, the team announced on Sunday.
Bregman, a 22-year-old righthanded-hitting infielder, has hit .333 so far this year at Triple A Fresno with six home runs and 15 RBIs in 18 games. He was taken by the Astros with the No. 2 pick in the 2015 draft, and entered the year as the league’s No. 42 prospect according to Baseball America.
Bregman will likely play third base with Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa occupying the middle of the infield.
Houston hosts New York Monday at 8:10 p.m. ET.
