Watch: Postgame interview another reason to treasure Munenori Kawasaki

In two partial seasons with the Mariners and Blue Jays, shortstop Munenori Kawasaki has emerged as Major League Baseball's eccentric, unguarded and wildly enthusiastic little brother (despite the fact that he'll be 31 next week), like the bat boy who is adopted as the team mascot. So when Kawasaki connected for a walk-off double against Orioles closer Jim Johnson on Sunday afternoon, to turn a 5-4 Toronto deficit into a 6-5 win, you knew something great was going to happen. Kawasaki didn't disappoint.

Here's the hit:

Kawasaki isn't much of a hitter, and Jose Reyes is going to take his job back eventually, so be sure to enjoy Kawasaki while he's around. That said, he's learning to take a walk, posting a .373 on-base percentage in May with one walk every 6.7 plate appearances, so perhaps that on top of his speed, defense and enthusiasm will allow him to hang around the majors for several more seasons.

I'm just glad he didn't try to mount anyone yesterday.
