Watch: Ichiro's walkoff leads Yankees past Rangers

Tuesday evening at Yankee Stadium began with news of a memorable Brian Cashman response to the newly-social-media-savvy, and apparently far-too-talkative Alex Rodriguez.  It ended with a memorable performance from Ichiro, who led the Yanks to victory over the Rangers with just his second career walkoff home run.

Down two strikes with two outs in the bottom of the ninth and the game tied at three, Ichiro drilled a pitch from Tanner Scheppers into deep right field, giving the fans in the Bronx a non-A-Rod related storyline to leave the stadium talking about.

Ichiro was the fourth Yankee of the night to hit a solo homer in a game that was originally billed as a pitchers' duel between Rangers ace Yu Darvish (who was responsible for giving up three of those solo homers to Travis Hafner, Brett Gardner and Jayson Nix) and the Yankees’ Hiroki Kuroda (who gave up two homers of his own to Leonys Martin).

By the way, Ichiro’s only other walkoff? It was off none other than Mariano Rivera in 2009.
