Watch: Aaron Hicks throws out Vernon Wells at third base from near the warning track

In June, we saw Yasiel Puig throw out Andrelton Simmons at third base and discussed the history of great throws to third base from the outfield. What we came up with were a collection of throws from right field that were laser-like strikes to third base.

This is not that. This is Twins rookie center fielder Aaron Hicks throwing out a wheezing, 34-year-old Vernon Wells trying to stretch a double into a triple with a refrigerator tied to his back. It's still impressive, because Hicks picked up the ball as it rolled of the warning track and hit third baseman Trevor Plouffe on the fly to beat Wells easily. The play was Hicks' ninth assist of the season, tops among American League outfielders.

After the play, Hicks, in a moment of questionable sportsmanship, pantomimed Wells' career path.
