Watch: Nothing going right for Cardinals as Ellsbury escapes pickle

From the Cardinals' perspective, Game 6 of the World Series is perhaps best summarized by the play above. With two outs in the fifth, Boston's Jacoby Ellsbury hit a grounder to second base that Matt Carpenter booted for an error. Ellsbury then attempted to steal second before St. Louis reliever Kevin Siegrist had committed to home plate, allowing Siegrist to throw to first base and get Ellsbury in a pickle.

The Cardinals couldn't get Ellsbury out that way either, as he scampered past Siegrist to get safely back to first. Ellsbury was stranded, but for St. Louis' fans, that just might be the play they most remember from this game.
