It's been a painful start to 2014 for Bryce Harper. The Nationals outfielder took a leg to the head, courtesy of Mets second baseman Eric Young Jr., while trying to break up a double play in the second inning of Monday's season opener for both teams. Harper stayed down for a few minutes after being hit, then appeared to leave the game, according to the Nationals' official Twitter account. As it turns out, Harper was just leaving the field because he was called out at second base.

Harper's slide kept the double play from being turned and was followed by a long two-run homer by Adam LaRoche to get the Nationals on the board against New York starter Dillon Gee.
