Giants' Madison Bumgarner's grand slam first for a pitcher this year

On Friday night, Madison Bumgarner became the first pitcher to hit a grand slam this season. The 24-year-old lefty — who bats right-handed — connected off Jorge De La Rosa during the fourth inning of the Giants' game against the Rockies in San Francisco.

Bumgarner is no stranger to round-trippers, having hit two of them back in 2012; the second of those came against another Colorado pitcher, Jhoulys Chacin. Friday's homer was the second by a pitcher this year following Gio Gonzalez's shot off Bartolo Colon on April 2. Via MLB.com, here's the video:

It was the first grand slam by a pitcher since the Cubs' Travis Wood hit one last May 30.
