Chute Box trainer Dias killed

Chute Boxe trainer Osmar Dias was shot and killed early Tuesday morning in while leaving the Chute Boxe Academy in Curitiba, Brazil, according to a report by Marcelo Alonso of Sherdog.com.

The report states that Brazilian announcer and close friend Xicão Joly indicated that Dias was shot three times. It was possibly an attempted assault on Dias, but Joly told Sherdog that the details of the incident were still unclear.

Dias was a part of Chute Boxe for more than a decade, leading students such as Wanderlei Silva, Maurico and Murilo Rua, Fabricio Werdum, AndreDida, Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos and more.

His funeral was to be held on Wednesday in Taruma, Brazil.
